We’re adults. We don’t talk about problems — we just go silent for three days and then reply with a smiley.

A real conversation starts when a person speaks about themselves. Everything else is topics: news, other people’s business, excuses, taking apart someone’s defenses.

An open person is the most worked-through person. It may have taken them years to unfold: one of the strongest fears is the fear of rejection.

When I try to talk with a friend and it gets sad — the only thing that helps is telling everyone about myself.

Speak about yourself. Whoever it works with — those are your people.
