Children
They’ll turn out like you anyway, so work on yourself, not on them
Kids are little versions of us. Do you like being punished and told off?
We have five kids, and I’ve never once punished or told off any of them.
Bring them into your life and show them how it works. Our job isn’t to raise them. It’s to teach them to live. We got it all backwards.
I tell them everything straight, and it’s great. Speak about yourself.
I tell each of them: you’re a small person, and I’m your exoskeleton. If something isn’t working, just say “I need help,” and I’ll help.
People have kids while they’re still kids themselves. So the growing up is on you. Live so they want to copy you. Take them along, and they’ll catch up.
Teach them the main thing: do what you want — just choose what to want.
A parent’s main job is to teach them to live without a parent.
Relax. You and your kids will be fine.
