Meditation

Close your eyes to see

Sit down. Close your eyes. Breathe. Notice you’re thinking — return to the breath.

That’s the whole technique.

The goal of meditation is not to react. To expand within. The goal of awakening is permanent presence. Remember that you’re breathing. Notice your breath throughout the day. It brings you back to the present moment.

Do everything slowly. Do not react. Faster doesn’t mean better. Freediving teaches that too.

It’s a way to notice that you are not your thoughts. Twenty minutes of sitting and you watch the same scripts run on a loop. Meditate longer and you stop confusing the script with yourself.

Keys: love, relaxation, trust, balance, acceptance, letting go, no judgment.

The depth has a map: collectedness is samadhi, observation is vipassana.

Meditation really is a paradoxical life hack — good things happen when you stop trying so hard to make them happen.

Meditation is fasting for the mind.

Try it in the morning, before you reach for the phone.
